DIB Museum - Bangkok
At the very beginning of the year, I visited the DIB Bangkok museum while traveling through Thailand and ended up having such a great experience. On my last day there, I ventured out solo after spending more than ten days traveling with my wife and another couple. It felt good to move at my own pace for a bit, especially since it had been a long time since I’d visited a museum. I left feeling really inspired and grateful to have made the time for it.
"I like to use light as a material, but my medium is actually perception"
One of the highlights was getting to experience James Turrell’s Straight Up installation in person. It was one of those works that slows you down without asking. Quiet, immersive, and surprisingly emotional the way he uses the light as his medium. The space itself played a huge role in that feeling. The museum is housed in a repurposed 1980s steel warehouse, and the way it’s been converted is incredibly thoughtful. Clean, minimal, and calm, it felt like the architecture was working alongside the art rather than competing with it.
