Devin's work is rooted in custom patterns, which he sees as a way to "create a universal conversation". An organic arrangement of shapes, reminding the viewer of a jigsaw puzzle, arranged to exist together yet separate. Evolving to this structured work took years of extermination and growth, working through different styles over the course of his life, leading to defining his series called SHAPED.
No Pattern is ever used twice giving every approach to a new work a different arrangement of his chosen ingredients. This creates an interesting challenge for the artist to figure out a new way to reconstruct each time. Certain pieces begin to break the cycle by incorporating organic forms and typography to further challenge and evolve his unique style.
